Jeremy Licata is an IT Specialist in the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Information Technology Laboratory (ITL) Computer Security Division (CSD). A former security practitioner, he now serves as a researcher supporting projects under the Security Engineering and Risk Management Group.

Over the last 17 years, he has performed security control assessments primarily for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). In his career, he has supported additional federal agencies, as a contractor, and not-for-profit organizations in a full spectrum of IT-related capacities. Many of the most memorable moments in his career have been in support of various NASA missions and in assessing several high-profile missions.

He holds a M.S. in Computer Systems Management, with a focus on Database Systems and Security, from the University of Maryland University College, a B.A. in History from the University of Maryland, College Park, and is a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP).
