Karen Wetzel is the manager of the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Framework for Cybersecurity, where she leads the efforts for advancing, improving, and applying the Framework in support of an integrated ecosystem of cybersecurity education, training, and workforce development. She specializes in community engagement and collaborating with stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify, communicate, and develop guidance tools and resources to address emerging trends and opportunities. Prior to joining NICE, she was the director of the Community Groups and Working Groups programs at EDUCAUSE, a U.S. nonprofit association whose mission is to advance higher education through the use of information technology, and served as the program manager for the National Information Standards Organization.
