The Workforce Framework for Cybersecurity (National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education [NICE] Framework) (NIST SP 800-181r1) establishes a common language for describing cybersecurity work and what needs done to complete that work. It is used by government, academia, and private industry in supporting a robust community working together to advance an integrated ecosystem of cybersecurity education, training, and workforce development.

In this session, attendees will learn about the following:

  • The NICE Framework (NIST SP 800-181r1) and its components, including task, knowledge, and skill statements; work roles; and competency areas
  • Government, academia, and private industry use of the Framework
  • Using the Framework for assessment, hiring, and career development
  • Contributing to the Framework’s ongoing evolution
